A series of graphics made for Hipostazy.
Hipostazy is a zine created by video games enthusiasts who take the subject of games seriously, seeking to understand and describe different aspects of video games, to think through games and about games.
The graphics created for Hipostazy draw inspiration from the rich landscape of video games, cinema and pop culture in general, as well as from the work of renowned artists such as H.R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński. Their aim was to capture and transform characteristic motifs, aesthetics and symbols known from multimedia works – from dark, surreal visions, through biomechanical structures, to dreamlike, dystopian landscapes. As a result, the graphics not only engage in a dialogue with iconic works of art and culture, but also reflect on video games as a medium, showing that the visual layer can become both a commentray and an extension of the themes explored in the zine.
