On 29 April 2014, Thomas Grip published a post on the Frictional Games blog presenting a game design method called The 4-Layers Approach, developed in collaboration with Adrian Chmielarz from The Astronauts studio. This method was used during the development of the game SOMA. Zine Hipostazy decided to create a video essay describing specific examples of this method used in the game. This series of graphics accompanies the essay and supports its narrative.
